Topic: Fireface 400 settings quit unexpectedly

Hello, I am a new user of the Fireface 400. When I first installed the drivers, everything was working perfectly. Then when I decided to upgrade the firmware version, which I did.

After that, everytime I click on the Fireface Settings i get a "The application Fireface Settings has quit unexpectedly".  I can no longer access the fireface control panel.

I have tried reinstalling the drivers and done numerous restarts but to no avail. I have also tried doing Permissions Repair and nothing helped. Could I have possibly screwed up the firmware inside the fireface hardware itself by updating it?

Do need assistance...thanks alot to anyone who can offer some suggestions.


Here are my specs;

Macbook Pro Intel Core Duo 2.16 GHz
2GB DDR2 SDRAM
USB Hub -> tried removing it and starting everything up, but it also did not work

Running Cubase 4.

hi !!!
i have also problem with fireface app quit unexpectedly  - it was a huge surprise for me becouse it happened after about 5 months after installing drivers  ... can anyone help me ? i tried reinstalling drivers , reflashing firmware etc ... i have macpro with osx tiger and fireface 800 . tried to find any solution in forum but found only this topic with no answers
thx in advance for any suggestions
ps. my ff800 works good with mixer and setting i set some months ago - just cant access to fireface settings till tomorrow morning hmm

You installed which firmware and use which driver?

i installed those updates after this crash - simply thought than maybe i havent new updates - i took all from your download section :
Fireface 800 TCO Flash Update 2.70
Fireface_262a_x86  2.62a ( (Firmware 1.67 / 2.70 / 2.47)

as i wrote previously everything works except fireface settings
i can record, play etc , just cant enter settings app - it quits sad((

Thorn: Remove the driver completely as described here

How do I completely remove the RME drivers and software for Windows 7?

Described in the manual and not different to Windows XP.

Actually Matthais, parts of the software and driver actually remain on the computer by using this system.

I am looking for a way to COMPLETELY remove the software and drivers.

Hi,

Add and remove programs FF driver in Control Panel
or check Readme for FF driver
or check Fireface.inf in driver package open with text editor
maybe some left overs i Regedit.exe !?

Actually this is what the manual says - the few driver files are not deleted. You can easily do this manually if you think it is necessary.
