Topic: Need a simple madi listen unit

Hi

I am using a small rack with 3 micstacys for recording, live sound.
when I setup microphones and so on, it would be a time saver if I could have
a listen function neer the micstacys.

What I am looking for,  is a madi unit that can be put into the madi chain
and function as a "listen to a channel".
I imagine a matrice with 16 horisontal buttons, 4 vertical buttons and 64 small lights
inbetween. A button for "solo in place" / "solo". a headphone output.
The unit must support the midi through madi feature.

Or do you already having such function in another box ?

Sebastian

Re: Need a simple madi listen unit

The ADI-642 comes close to your needs. You can also use the 8-channel digital return path in every Micstasy and connect a simple ADAT or AES DA converter for monitoring.

Re: Need a simple madi listen unit

Yes, but then my idea of a small location rack is gone.
I have also been thinking of using a sum mixer, and then use the
analog split from the micstacys.
But it is not a elegant solution for my needs.

I will download the manual for the adi642 to see if it can be used for this.

thanks
