Topic: Reliable recording

Hi, y'all!

I'm going to replace my PC laptop with an Apple sometimes for tracking purposes only. So I need a software that works reliably with my Apple and FF800 in order to record max 12 tracks at a time.

Is DIGIcheck good enough for this job or should I get a DAW software? Which software would you buy (bearing in mind that I only do the tracking with the Apple and edit the recordings with another computer).

Thanks!
J

Re: Reliable recording

If you plan to use OS X on the notebook, keep in mind that recording functions are not in the Mac version of DigiCheck yet. Any DAW software should be able to manage a dozen tracks without trouble.

Oh, thanks for the heads-up.

Can the basic Logic 9 Express do 12 tracks simultaneously? Somebody said on another forum that there's a restriction for recording only 2 channels at a time but I haven't been able to verify this.

Re: Reliable recording

Both Ardour and Reaper could handle 12 tracks easily...
