Topic: Micstasy clicks problem

We've opened a box with the fresh new Micstasy today and...

The info says: Near click-free gain changes in steps of 0.5 dB. OK, but gain changes are far from click-free. Especially step from 21.5 to 22 gives very loud click.

With speakers set to quite loud studio level we can hear flashing LEDs wink Something like very slow LFO.

Is it normal for Micstasy?

Jacek

Re: Micstasy clicks problem

21.5 to 22 must give a click as relais switch the gain range there (should be easy to hear that).

Never heared of problems with the LED level meters. Open inputs or ground loop?

Re: Micstasy clicks problem

The ground loop... Well, it seems that everything is ok, but I can check connecting outputs via ADAT directly to Fireface 800. I'll let you know.

How about clicks? If you want I can record them. I understand the gain is digitally controlled but changes are loud and it's almost impossible to use it live with a big FOH.

Re: Micstasy clicks problem

More clear, please. Changes apart from 22/21.5 should be nearly inaudible. If not check other channels, maybe there is a DC offset internally (means it's broken).
