hi all

just purchased a FF400 firewire

i bought the item for the rock solid drivers more than the sound

my first question is what sort of latency should i expect from the card runnin Ableton live @ 60-70 %  of the Asio bandwidth

i was getting very minor pops and click at 256 yesterday until i used the dpc check and removed a graphics card whihc was causing dpc spike (idle and moving mouse was causing dpc to go into 1000 now sits @0-50 )

it seem to run ok at 256 and 60-70      can i expect any better ?

also when i minimize ableton i get a sort of crunch sound which i gather is something to do with ableton taking cpu away from the program when i minimize

is there any way around this   im sure it didnt do it before on my old soundcard

maybe im being to critical cause i just dropped a bomb on this card cash wise

so far though with that buffer setting i can record midi vsti on the fly while in a big project
were as on my old soundcard and the saffire pro 40 i just tested wouldnt even play the project at 256  latency

so you can say  I am  semi happy customer at the moment
