Topic: HDSP 9632 PCI - OSX Snow Leopard (64 bit) driver?

Is there a chance for the drivers to be ported to 64bit one day? It's such a bummer to boot in 32bit...
Can i use some combination of HDSP and HDSPe drivers, in order to make my HDSP 9632 work in 64bit?

Thanks in advance.

Re: HDSP 9632 PCI - OSX Snow Leopard (64 bit) driver?

How do you run Snow Leopard in K64 mode on a MAC that has a PCI port?
Hackintosh?

RME have said that 64bit drivers for SL will not be done for PCI cards, since there is no such MACs out there that can run Snow Leopard in 64bit.

Guilty as charged.

Hey XLR,
if you found a solution for PCI/Cardbus on SL64, please let me know HeadScratch

It should be pretty easy to fix, any chance on sharing the source code?

Come on RME...
I think, it?s not a big Deal to write or rewrite a Driver for our HDSP 9632(52) PCI.
Is it the F***ing restriction in Apples Contracts ? OmG...
Isn?t it better to get an original Driver from RME than a hacked Driver from anywhere ?
Time will come, and there will be a Hacked Driver...

Maybe it?s a concept to sell some more new PCIe cards :-O

So XLR  you have the 9632 working in Snow Leopard 32 bit?  What kexts did you install?  What motherboard are you using?  It says it installs on my system and then I reboot and it's not available... sad

This discussion is stillborn: Apple does not sanction use of OS X on any other machines than an authorized Mac. Therefore any discussion on use of 3rd party equipment on unauthorized machines doesn't belong here and any support of such unauthorized use is very likely a violation of RME's agreements with Apple.

Please respect RME and take this discussion to more appropriate forums.

PC1 = HDSPe PCIe: DF-ADI-8 DS / HDSPe PCIe: MF2
MBP = HDSPe Expresscard: MF1

Re: HDSP 9632 PCI - OSX Snow Leopard (64 bit) driver?

so, what should I understand? there will be no driver[kext] for MacOSX 10.6 [64bit] ?
I've upgrade my mac to 10.6, because apple said that is better/faster, but I must force it to boot in 32bit, because of RME kext [the only device that keeps me from booting in 64b]

oh...
how can I run a PCI card in an noPCI machine?
this way>
PCI Express to PCI Adapter

And what about those who have external PCI expansion boxes?
