Topic: 32x32 matrix with 2 AES32 cards. Possible?

Hi,

The title says it all: I have 2 AES32 cards that we use in the tracking room. I'd love to use the hardware monitoring capabilities of the cards, but I am currently limited by the size of the routing matrix (two 16x16 matrix instead of 32x32). Any possibility to see this coming in a future driver/product release, or do I necessarily have to jump in the MADI boat to get that?

Sorry if this has been addressed before in this forum...

Best,
Thomas

Re: 32x32 matrix with 2 AES32 cards. Possible?

Hi Thomas,

since the routing is done on the FPGA chips directly on the cards I think there is no way to make them learning from each other... This would only be possible if the totalmix software would use the host bus structure and host CPU power. However, this is not the case, for exactly the reason of being able to realize low latency hardware monitoring...

Ulrich

Hi Ulrich!

Thanks for the quick response. That's what I thought too, but I wanted to be 100% sure.. I was also hoping that one of the additional connectors on the card could serve for that purpose...
