Topic: ISA 428 clips FF 800 even in low gain

Hey all, the Focusrite ISA 428 does not have an output level control on it. Input levels
on the 428 of -12, which is less than half way up the VU meter, clip total mix even when the
unit has been set to low gain. What to do?

1) Use the rear line input (of the FF).

2) +19 dBu plus 12 dB = 31 dBu, that would be much too much and requires passive attenuation by resistors externally. If so.

Re: ISA 428 clips FF 800 even in low gain

Hey MC, is there anything else that can be said about my situation here that may help me out? When i told my guy in the pro audio dept what you said, he acted like i was crazy.

Although he is a nice guy and knowledgeable, he acts like if he's never heard of such a thing it doesnt exist.

Thanks Racey
