Topic: Win 7 firmware upgrade notes for HDSP 9652

Just a note for anyone searching here in the future on this issue. I was completely unable to do a firmware upgrade on the HDSP 9652 under Win 7 Professional 64-bit until I put UAC in the completely off position. With UAC turned on but in the lowest of the 4 positions the upgrade software didn't do anything including even pop up a window to tell me it was having problems.

Once I turned UAC off the upgrade proceeded fine and when completed I was able to put it one level up. (where I am currently running it) The HDSP 9652 seems to be working fine.

I hope that RME Will support the Alsa developers with info on the firmware changes as this has broken my compatibility with Linux.

Cheers,
Mark

Did you try giving the firmware upgrade software administrative rights when you launched it? That's: right-click and select "Run as administrator". Usually that bypasses the W7 UAC security.

PC1 = HDSPe PCIe: DF-ADI-8 DS / HDSPe PCIe: MF2
MBP = HDSPe Expresscard: MF1
