Topic: Noise in First Channel Fireface 400

Hi, I bought my FF400 from ebay a couple of years ago only to discover that there was some low level noise present in the first XLR input. I've been at University since, so I could never afford to get it serviced until now. Do RME offer maintenance services or are there any independent dealers in UK who could do this? Also anyone have any idea how much it would cost?

Keith.

Hi,

please contact Synthax UK, who will help with service.

What's the level of this noise? Are you sure the gain level is not turned up on channel 1?

I don't think its related to the gain, it sounds more like digital artifacts in the signal, but its audible.

Re: Noise in First Channel Fireface 400

Its been a while since I've used it actually, I suppose I should do some tests again to make sure it wasn't caused by something else. Is there any particular method I should use? For example, gain settings, mic, etc?

Best,
Keith

Maybe some influences are flying around.
