Topic: Fireface UC showing up as 4 unknown devices

I have Ricoh firewire chipset in my laptop, I brought home a UC to see if worked any better.  My laptop is a PM45 chipset so I was hoping.  Anyway I couldn't get it stable, but I really blame that on my laptop, stupid Dell XPS 1640.

I proceded to move my laptop to a more comfortable room for further tweaking and when I turn on the UC, it shows up as disconnected with 4 unknown devices.  Moved it to another machine and the same thing.

It was working fine for 2 hours, did it just fail or is there something I can do?

Have you accidentally switched it to Mac firmware?

No I installed the fut_usb_win.zip firmware right after the drivers.  Used if for a couple hours with a couple reboots along the way.  I then unplugged it, moved it and it never worked again.

What he means is that the unit starts up showing AP on the display.

Didn't know that I could accidentally do that, and yes that was the problem.
