Topic: FireFace800 + Lenovo R61

I own Lenovo R61 (ricoh) and fireface800.

I have two partitions, and two Win XP: One for Internet and the other for Cubase, Sonar...
Internet Windows has many problems: there is no signal on first input, glatches in media player..

Clean Windows work but:
I use 44.1KHz sampling rate.
I get nice performance in cubase with 512 buffer size.
256 buffer gives crack from time to time and with lower buffers it grows.

I have read all post about firewire issues and still didn't find what exactly I have to do to get lowest buffer with no cracks:
I have disable CDROM and powermizer of nivida. Also I have installed speed switch. I also tried working without usb mouse.
I can't get lower buffer sizes than 512 to work without cracking.

What else should I try?

a different laptop....
i assume you tried an Express slot Ti firewire?

I didn't try Express slot Ti firewire because it is also ricoh chipset and form post reading I got a picture that it won't help?

Do you think I should try that?

since you already own the laptop yes they are not that much... you might get lucky...
