Topic: Snow Leopard Freezing Issue

Hi,

Just wondering what the status is from Apple about fix/issue? Like most other descriptions here, I had no problems until updating to Snow Leopard.

Also, is the work around to turn on the FF800 before booting, and/or not sleeping the machine before turning it on?

Which driver is best?

Thanks,
Brian

Re: Snow Leopard Freezing Issue

we're all waiting for a solution since october. RME communication is awfull, so be patient and don't take it personnaly if they treat you as a dumb with a typical answer like " you don't read this forum".

Re: Snow Leopard Freezing Issue

Hey, they made already incredible progress. Last year I got as answer from RME support:

dieses Ph?nomen halte ich nicht f?r ein Problem, sondern eine Fehlbedienung...

(translation: I do not consider this phenomenon to be a problem, but wrong usage of the device ...)

Meanwhile it is a acknowledged problem ... if they keep that pace probably in another 6 months we will have a solution :-)

Re: Snow Leopard Freezing Issue

that's true, theyr'e better now...maybe one day turning the device on would not be considered as a wrong usage ?

Re: Snow Leopard Freezing Issue

Thanks for the heads up.

Its so weird for RME to have driver problems like this. I always tell everyone I know how stable their stuff runs... until this Snow Leopard garbage.

I found that if I always turn on my FF800 before I start working, and connect my DAW to the Core Audio FF driver right away, I don't get the hang. Once connected I can then sleep my machine....
