Re: Connecting FF800 With Summing Mixer

Hi Yousef,
From what I recall the Total Mix Pan Law only effects the input (top row) monitoring. This would only effect the monitoring though Total mix or when using the Direct Monitor option in Cubase. So you just need to set the Pan Law for Total Mix to the Pan Law for Cubase which defaults I think to -6db.
This does not effect the Outputs going to the summing mixer.

bit i use equal power pan law in cubase so what is the pan law setting shoud I use in total mix?
and what about the gain settings for uots and ins in FF800

Re: Connecting FF800 With Summing Mixer

HI Yousef,
I think -0 on the Fireface mixer settings but not sure if there is a exact equivalent.

The level of you inputs on the line level inputs are controlled at the source not at the fire face.
The input section (Top Row) of the fire face mixer only controls the monitoring level of incoming signals not what is being sent to your software.
If you are using a summing mixer then you should leave the fire face mixer settings at the default 0.0db.
Your output levels for each track in Cubase are in Cubase and the summing mixer.

Thanks Chris

Re: Connecting FF800 With Summing Mixer

HI Yousef,
Depends on your outboard gear. You will need top refer to your owners manuals for those devices.

If some of your gear is +4 and some is -10 I say use +4. You can always adjust the level of inputs with -10 devices attached using Cubase input gain control if needed.
