Topic: Alesis HD24 with Hspce card and midi exp with cubase 3

Does the xlr and rca connectors from breakaway cable pci card have to be connected if i already have the optical in outs to adat 24 and the pc to get a recording signal in cubase, and if so where do they connect to?     thanx much apreciated Bd

I'm not sure to understand...

If you get signal from adat, it is enough !!! you don't need to plug the analog into the hd24. Anyway, but the way you must choose between optical or analog input implies only one input for recording !

If you need an advice, use your hd24 in 48khz with optical input without using world clock to the hd24. This is the best way to use it. Just use synchronisation from optical input and don't forget to select digital input for recording (this is done by selecting analog or digital by two tracks in the menu of your hd24).

I you feel 'neophyte', ask more to this forum to get the best way of using your audio interface and hd24 recording/playing stuff.
