Topic: Volume levels of line inputs 5-8

Hi,

I recently purchased a Fireface 400 and am really pleased with it. I am a bit stuck however with the input volume settings on channels 5-8. How do I make the input level louder on these input channels?

I have tried the different gain settings in the Fireface settings dialog box - Lo Gain, +4dBu etc and changing the fader levels, but the input from my Nord Lead is still very low.

When I plug it into inputs 3&4 the input level is much better, but as these are front mounted, I use these for guitars, etc.
I would prefer to have the Nord plugged into the back of the unit which means channels 5-8. The Nord itself is outputting maximum gain and can't go any louder.

Can inputs 5-8 go louder? Are there other settings or things I could try?

Many thanks,

Seb

No, sorry, there aren't any other settings.

DC rules!

Check the Nord's output level setting - does it deliver +4?
The mixer faders have no effect, the only way to get more level would be to set the input sensitivity to -10, if that is what the synth will output.

5-8 are line input levels, so you must be sure that your synth is able or your must set it to output line levels !

If +4db is not sufficient, go with -10db to get more sensitivity input.

Another way is using DI box to get right levels.
