Topic: Multiple AIO's in one computer? Other suggestions re. extra inputs?

Anyone who has experience with this?
I currently have a HDSPe AIO + AI4S card (= 4 additional AD inputs) + Rosetta 800, connected via ADAT through the AIO.
I have a project coming up where I'll need a couple more analog AD inputs. What do you guys suggest?
I was thinking about adding another AIO + AI4S (this would get me 6 extra AD inputs). This is the most cost-effective solution in my opinion (= current street price would be around ?700). I'm not sure however whether it is possible to actually run two AIO cards on the same system. And if it would be possible, would Totalmix simply recognize the new inputs or will I need an extra Totalmix instance as well? What do you guys suggest here? Other cost effective solutions?
Best regards,

K.

It's possible to use 2 (or more) HDSP(e) cards. Each card will have a separate TotalMix interface.

Thanks.
How do both cards sync then? Is there a way to connect them internally?)
(Right now I let the Apogee clock the card)
Thanks,

Both can sync to the same external clock, or you can use the (included) internal SPDIF cable for sync, as well as an external SPDIF, AES or ADAT connection.
