I successfully installed and operated my Fireface 800 via the fw400 cable, but cannot get it to come up in device manager when using an fw800 cable.
I've tried two computers and neither worked.  Both are PC's. One runs Windows Vista 32 bit.  The other Windows 7 64 bit.
I installed the following pci card to add the fw800 port:   Inland Pro PCI 1394B 800 Mbps 3 port CARD.

Anyone have any ideas?
I've messed with drivers, both new and legacy.
Maybe it's the pci card.

Can anyone help me get my RME FF800 connected to a fw800 port?
