Topic: Fireface 400

hi all!

im new in Firwire, today i became my fireface 400, i noted that my Macpro has firewire 800 connection
i just can't connect the soundcard wich has a cable IEEE 1394a (FW400) to my Mac,
and i didn't dare to connect it with other cable, first i wanted here to get know what's up

or maybe i bought the wrong thing for my Macpro ? well this will be the worst thing ever i did it in my life lol
any tips ?

You only need a FW800<>FW400 cable, also called 9-pin to 6-pin. You should find these in any computer store.

i was this morning in all computer shops, but no one has this 9-pin to 6-pin fw cable only 4 to 6 btw i dont live in Afganistan lol

can i take this 6 to 4 for my systeme ? Macpro firewire 800 and fireface 400

No, you need a 9-to-6 cable, like this.

I bought such a 9-pin to 6-pin cable, but when I connect my MacbookPro to the fireface400 the only thing I get is some miliseconds of audio-blips. The sound is never steady.

I'm running Mac OS X 10.5.8 on a MacbookPro 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB Ram. I installed the driver for IntelComputers with OS X up to 10.5., Firmeware is 2.62.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Don't understand that related post, sorry for my ignorance.
I hope the unit no. helps to identify.
Unit no. is #70221127 v1.69
Unit was bought some years ago.
