Topic: Raydat Crackles

I have a raydat with the TCO option (hardware revision 11, TCO revision 8, driver 3.08.3) running under Windows 7 Professional 64-bit with 2x12-core X5680 3.33GHz Xeon processors and 48GB RAM.  All that is running (for debugging purposes) is Windows Media player, with the output routed to ADAT 1&2 of the Raydat.

The optical output 1-8 is routed to a Pro Tools rig (192 I/O) inputs 1-8.  The World clock input of the TCO is routed to the world clock output of a Sync HD, which is correctly setup in Pro Tools (had previously been using it with another setup).

I am getting occasional crackles (once every 15-30s or so) when I play back.  At first I thought it was my software, but when I stripped it back to simply WMP, it became evident that it was not.

I need to troubleshoot this urgently.  Please can you contact me to assist.

Kind Regards,

Nick.

Re: Raydat Crackles

hello

I have exactly the same problem .. , Clicks audio outputs ADAT1 to 4 and SPDIF
this occurs within ableton or even in winamp

all the drivers from all parts of my system are up to date.

WIn7 x64 , EVGA SR2 , 2x X5620 , 12Gig DDR3 , system on SSD , DATA on WD1To , audio on SSD

NO problem if I manually disable ONE cpu, everything works impeccably

I attached the screens

I am a new user of RME, it starts well

please help me

Re: Raydat Crackles

Even though the DPC latency checker program shows only green, 900ns is actually a pretty bad result. A PC with no latency problems should have DPC values around 100ns or lower. This is most likely not an RME issue.

Re: Raydat Crackles

hello

ok, I find the problem, the SR2 is a card for power users, I could not resist pushing more of the 200mhz cpu to arrive at 3800mhz (200x19), I tested at 180MHz, and this miracle, no problem, everything works perfectly.

yes it is not necessarily a problem RME, but I have no problem either with other sound cards.

add: I also add that DPC latency is useless as a mislead, I bought a laptop in the yellow / red latency, and I have no problem with my Emu

and although I am not a 100?s, I is currently no problem of audio clicks, even without optimization, with all unnecessary Windows services to open

edit : after optimization services, and stop anti-virus, here is my latency is actually better.
