Topic: HDSPe PCI and Motherboard

Bought HDSPe PCI Card for my Multiface2. In a Computer-service they stated that the card doesn?t fit to my motherboard, which is:

Gigabyte H55M-USB3

Is that correct? However, there are two PCI Express slots in the board: PCIEX16 and PCIEX4_X1.

Do I really need to change my motherboard?

I?d appreciate for any advice/help!

Thanks!

Re: HDSPe PCI and Motherboard

Hi there,

looking at a photo of the motherboard, like http://www.pcforce.co.nz/images/H55M-USB3.jpg it seems the motherboard has 2 (old) PCI slots, 2 large PCI Express slots, but no small PCI Express slots, which is the one the HDSPe fits.  So, unless there is some way to fit the small PCI Express card into the large PCI Express slot, I think maybe it won't work on that motherboard.

Another option would be to get one of the PCI cards, instead of PCI Express.  You may be able to swap it from the retailer if you bought it recently.  Otherwise, I happen to have a PCI version (older card, v1.7, but still compatible), and need a PCI Express one, perhaps we can arrange a swap? smile

Re: HDSPe PCI and Motherboard

Of course the PCIe card willwork in the longer slots as well.
