Topic: DIGI9636 : which PCI revision : 3.3v and/or 5v ?

Hi RME, the DIGI9636 (and DIGI9652) are 3.3v and 5v notch keyed which seem to indicate that are compatible with both 3.3v or 5v, right ?
Can I use it with a latest intel DP35DP motherboard which is PCI 2.3 revision (meaning it certainly uses 3.3v ) ?
Whatever the PCI revision (even the latest 2.3), as long as the DIGI fits into the motherboard (old or latest) female PCI connector, is the DIGI9636 compatible ?
Is the DIGI9636 3.3v or 5v ?
Are they compatible with PCI2.1 and PCI2.2 and PCI2.3 ?
As long as the port is "a PCI, whatever revision" can I safely plug the DIGI in it ?

Same questions for DIGI96/8 and DIGI32/8 and HDSP9652

Thanks A LOT, Eric

No and no.

This problem never affected PC motherboards, they simply did not work/boot with such cards. But there is no experience with later generations of motherboards, so it is better to check that the card is fully compatible.

Re: DIGI9636 : which PCI revision : 3.3v and/or 5v ?

Thanks for reply but it is still not clear for me :

I am a PC (and linux ALSA) ONLY user.
The PC motherboard I would like to buy is an intel DP35DP which is PCI revision 2.3 (which means : accepts 3.3v keyed or "universal 3.3 and 5v" addon PCI cards)
my DIGI9636 having both the 5v AND 3.3v notch keys : it indicates that they will work ? Do you confirm ?

Can you please explain a bit more to me?

Thanks a lot in advance, Eric

Re: DIGI9636 : which PCI revision : 3.3v and/or 5v ?

Hi again,
So even though my digi9636 has the 2 universal key notches that normally indicate it is "universal 3.3v or 5v compatible" , there is a possibility it could in fact not be 3.3v compatible ?
Please state what information, detail or markings I should look for on my DIGI9636 to know if it ACTUALLY IS 3.3v compatible ?
Thanks a lot in advance, Eric

Re: DIGI9636 : which PCI revision : 3.3v and/or 5v ?

Could it be a "known issue" by RME team that many of the DIGI9636 and DIGI9652 actually were PCI rules "RENEGADES" in that although showing the universal key notches they were in fact not universal at all (and 5v only in fact) ?
Sorry to become ironic to RME on a RME help forum but I would really like to be answered...
Thanks in advance

Re: DIGI9636 : which PCI revision : 3.3v and/or 5v ?

Are all rme digi9652 revision1.1 compliant with PCI3.3v signalling (for use in a PC motherboard with PCI2.3 slots = 3.3v only signalling) ?
The problem you mentioned only affected some digi of the revisions 1.5 and 1.6, right ?
Thanks a lot in advance
