Topic: HDSPe AIO dead after a week

Just bought a brand new HDSPe AIO and it's been working great.

Up until yesterday though. Suddenly OSX 10.6.4 couldn't find the card, I did a restart and it found it. I restarted again, just to be sure, and the card disappeared.

And today it seems to be completely dead. The only thing that seems to work is the ADAT out light, but that's about it.

I've tried to reinstall drivers
-reinstall OSX and drivers
-reseat the card in different PCI slots
-done SMC reset
-done PRAM reset
-a small prayer

Nothing worked. I'm gonna send the card back to the dealer in order to get a new one. But I'm mostly afraid that they'll blame me for damaging the card. Although I didn't do anything wrong with it.

I'm using a Mac Pro (4,1) with OSX 10.6.4.

Any ideas what could cause this problem or is it just broken????

Help!

/Martin

Re: HDSPe AIO dead after a week

You can check System Profiler to see if the card is detected at all. If not, it's just dead. The warranty should cover replacement except in cases of abuse.

Re: HDSPe AIO dead after a week

Well, I can't see it in the "System Profiler", so I'll guess it's dead.

I've only used RME's cables and it haven't been exposed for any abuse. (Not any that I know of smile)
