Topic: Routing Output/Playback to Input

Hi,

as I am a absolute beginner with RME studio soundcards, I wonder, if it is possible to route one or more playback/output channels back to the input channels.
I would like to use an crossover application (thuneau frequency allocator) and at the moment I use Virtual Audio Cable or Jack audio for this.

Example for what I'd like to do:

WinAmp  --> RME HDSP playback/out channel 7/8 --> RME HDSP in --> frequency allocator application --> RME HDSP playback/out Channel 1-6 --> amplifiers

Would be great if it were possible without an extra application.

Thanks & regards
Matthias

Re: Routing Output/Playback to Input

Some (but not all) HDSP cards support this - if so, there is a chapter on "Recording a Subgroup" in the manual. Else, use a simple SDPIF cable loop.

Wow this response was really fast.
Thanks a lot.

As i found such a chapter in my HDSP 9632 manual, I will now attentively read (and hopefully understand ;-) ) it.

I would prefer to avoid a physical cable if not necessary.

Loopback is what you want to research.  It's a handy tool, and should let you perform EXACTLY what you want to do once you get your head wapped around Totalmix wink
