Topic: ADI-8 QS Sync issues.

Hi forum.

Having issues with a pretty new ADI-8 QS. It briefly drops sync at random, causing clicks and what not. The unit is clocked via ADAT with a 9652 as master. None of my other converters (ADI-8 AE + a Fireface UC clocked via adat) has similar problems. I've tried different ADAT cables, different outputs from the 9652, but with no improvement. Sometimes the unit will lose sync completely, requiring a power-cycle to re-establish sync, which seems a bit strange to me. Firmware is 1.1 (first dot on input / output meters). This all happens at random - some days are better than others.

Suggestions?

I would suggest to have the unit checked at your local distributor, and at the same time updated to firmware 1.2. That is the stable shipping version since 07/2008.

Sorry, no. There have been only minor changes and your specific error is not part of that. It's just that when the unit is in for check the update can be done anyway.
