Topic: (Solved) Status Bit problem

Hello,

I am developing transparent transmission of AES3 Channel Status in a video-over-IP gateway, and I have been trying to use my Multiface II with Digicheck as a measurement tool to confirm correct transmission of the channel status bits. I use WinXP on a Macbook Pro with the Expresscard interface for my Multiface, and I am using the latest version of drivers, firmware and Digicheck.

When connecting various AES3 signals to the S/PDIF input of my Multiface. Preferred sync is set to S/PDIF input, clock is set to slave and samplerate in Digicheck is set to 48kHz just as the signal. Input select is set to Multiface II ASIO driver, SPDIF input ports.

When using the Bit statistics and Noise display, there is absolutely no activity in the last bits (CUV) - they are blue and set to 0. The Channel Status display just displays No channel status information available.

Is there something in the user manual that I don't have read, is there a known bug with receiving Channel status information on the S/PDIF input of the Multiface II, or is this a new bug that can be fixed?

The source of the AES3 signals are various broadcasting grade MPEG2 decoders and SDI/HD-SDI audio de-embedders that is supposed to have Professional Channel Status information. Our Tektronix waveform monitor is unfortunately out for repair, so we have no other 3rd party means of confirming the data.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks in advance!
