Topic: updated Totalmix for Fireface 400?

hello. my last post disappeared. hm.

I was wondering if RME will update the current TotalMix for the Fireface 400/800? The Totalmix Fx interface looks much easier to use. I and my friends with the 400/800 have been baffled by the
"current" (4 year old) Total Mix for the 400/800.

danke! for any info you can provide.

And this one will disappear again as the forum includes multiple statements already that this will not be available.

Hilarious.

On 9/29 you did mention to someone that an update was planned....

But when I search "Totalmix update" I am not finding much else.

Thus to clarify, there will be no update to the current totalmix software for fireface 400 and 800 users.
Correct?

Danke.

Re: updated Totalmix for Fireface 400?

What Matthias tries to say is, that we have given a lot statements in the past and don?t want to see a new thread to this topic every 2nd day. The classic TotalMix was developed and continously updated for many years - from features to the GUI - and fits existing hardware perfectly. TotalMix FX was exclusively developed for new and upcoming hardware, like the Babyface and the Fireface UFX. So only new developed hardware can get TotalMix FX - so it will be not available for the Fireface 400/800.

Knut

Correct?

You specifically mentioned TotalMix FX, and that will not be available. Updates with smaller changes for the old TotalMix might come but I have no date, and you should not expect anything before March next year.

Re: updated Totalmix for Fireface 400?

I have recently Bought A FF 400 . if I knew RME Admins Are this much rude to look into our eyes and say that they will not develop totalmix FX for FF400 I would ever never bought their product . it is a shame ! I can dare say there is no other company with this degree of stubbornness to easily say there will never be such a thing and stop the conversation to their gentle customers who have bought their product based on the confidence .
The reality is that the old totalmix which already is used for FF400 has a lot of problems and is annoying.
why do you think a lot of users are asking for this?
instead of this stubbornness you'd better get back to work and help your users and customers to ease the pain of the old totalmix. at least you can solve the problems of the old version in new updates . but solve it for real not for fun with no change!!!
I respect RME both users and company and I am never going to insult and offence but this anger is the natural reflection of rejecting so many professional musician with stubbornness .

Re: updated Totalmix for Fireface 400?

The post above yours is clear about this. Maybe you could be more specific about what makes the old Totalmix difficult to use for you.

The hardware of the FF400 simply does not support  effects - so there is no real point to develop a version of TM FX for this unit.

What's the problem with Total Mix? FF800 here, I use it everyday and consider it to be one of the most sophisticated and easy-to-use/let-me-do-what-I-want interface mixer out there!

No FX, but never ever did I read a statement from RME that this would/could be implemented...

Re: updated Totalmix for Fireface 400?

Dear RME Tech Support / Admin ,
What I remember of German Engineering is that (( There is always a Way )) . (At Least )
for a middle-class Company it is accepted but from the Great RME  ..... , well I don't think so !
Thanks

Re: updated Totalmix for Fireface 400?

Well, unfortunately, the FPGA signal processor chip inside the FF400 is not a german product, and so can not be updated to render any effects. Sorry...

Re: updated Totalmix for Fireface 400?

Well guys I'm a FF800 user here.... I'm way less demanding about total mix, I mean... I totally understand the problems related, to implement totalmix FX on FF400 and 800.... Probably, it's more hardware problem than a software problem.... But I would be absolutley happy with a little "makeover" to Totalmix... Ok, we can't get the FXs... I can live with that... but at least you could give us the look...

Totalmix works pretty well, but it's kind of ugly if you compare it with the new Totalmix FX... so I would be super happy having my classic totalmix but with the totalmix FX look...

Can this be part of a future upgrade?... Probably, this is the easiest upgrade to do to the software...

Cheers!
