Topic: Totalmix GUI error + looking for older drivers

Hello fellow Forum members!

I have updated my HP nx9420 notebook to XP SP3.
My FF800 runs firmware 2.47, as I have a model that suffers from the headphone clicks on 2.77

I am looking for the last working drivers for this combination (2.47) but cannot find them in the driver archive.

My main issues however are:
- bluescreen BSOD when switching on the FF800 (not every time though)
- Totalmix GUI error

Any tips and solutions would be greatly appreciated ! !
Best Regards,
Andrew

Re: Totalmix GUI error + looking for older drivers

Several people reported this problem already (as a search in this forum will reveal) and usually got it solved by deleting the special bitmap folders for user skins. The last working driver for firmware 2.47 is v 2.993:

Re: Totalmix GUI error + looking for older drivers

Hello Matthias,

thank you ! I will give the drivers a try.

Sorry, I didn't find any results for the GUI error by forum searching, but will give your tip a try.
Best regards!
Andrew

Re: Totalmix GUI error + looking for older drivers

Hello again - unfortunately I don't seem to have the bitmap folder in the RME Totalmix directory. It's either in another location, or must be related to another issue?

So then try driver 2.993!

v 2.993 includes the updated TotalMix design. Screenshot?

Re: Totalmix GUI error + looking for older drivers

You can try to download the factory (original) bitmaps and put them in the required folder, so that not the iternal ones but the external ones are used. Maybe that helps. But basically this looks like a redraw problem of the graphics card driver. Update available?

We had at least 2 users with a problem like yours with the same screenshots, long ago, but the forum search is so bad I can't find them :roll

Re: Totalmix GUI error + looking for older drivers

Thanks for the link.
I read issues arose after 2.73 - could you please send me driver 2.73 for me to try?

Re: Totalmix GUI error + looking for older drivers

Sorry, it doesn't work that way. Please try to solve the real problem, which I expect to be the graphics card driver. Find out which model you have (maybe ATI Mobility Radeon X1600), then do a Google serach for drivers. Forget the HP driver download page, it is as outdated as this notebook. The latest drivers I found (provided you have that card) for XP are from October 2010, version 8.593.100.0000, also called 10.10 pack, for example here:

Re: Totalmix GUI error + looking for older drivers

Thanks for the link.
Latest for XP32 is 8.592, or pack 9.3
Installed, no change unfortunately.

Re: Totalmix GUI error + looking for older drivers

Could you please send me 2.73 so that I might try it? I'm trying to rule out that my update to SP3 changed it, as I used 2.73 before that.

Re: Totalmix GUI error + looking for older drivers

Thanks, 2.73 works fine. There must have been sth. changed in the gui redraw since then?
