Topic: FFUC X 2 and MBPro

I have MacBook Pro 2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo and 4GB RAM.
I have 1 FFUC but I want to record 24/192.
I have 2 X USB ports.

I am wondering if I'll be able to record 16 X 24/192 tracks live recording ( a jazz band ) simultaneously.
Because, I am worried that I will have USB band-with problems.
Has this been tested by anyone?

If i can do this I will buy a second FFUC, if not then I am thinking about getting a presonus Digimax FX and record 16 X 24/44.1 tracks.

Re: FFUC X 2 and MBPro

The USB ports on the Macbook Pro should be on their own respective bus, they do not share bandwidth with each other. If bootcamped Windows is installed on that machine you can check via its Device-Manager.

Thanks for the info...

Since it is a big decision ( 2 X FFUC = 16channels X 24/192  or 1 X FFUC + 1 Digimax FX = 16 channels X 24/44.1 ),
I hoped someone with real life experience would share some info.

On the other hand, it should work on paper with 2 separate busses...

Re: FFUC X 2 and MBPro

Well, it's less than 9 mb/s anyway, so I would not worry too much about bandwidth, but more about syncing. wink

2 UC should even work on one bus. On a Mac the other bus can then be used for all the other USB devices.
