Topic: Fireface 800 Completely Dead

Hello, and thanks for the help in advance.

After I had to power down my studio, now the Fireface 800 will not boot up at all. There is no lights, nothing. I have tried other power cords with no success.

In the past, this has happened in the same manner where the FF 800 would not power up, but after being plugged in for a while it would then be able to be booted up again. This time, however, it has been an hour and it still shows no signs of life.

(Actually, there is a quiet noise coming from the unit, almost like a fan that is clicking a little. This winds down when I power the unit down like a fan would. This noise was not there when the unit was operating)

Is there any way to try and reinitialize the unit, or is there a fuse that perhaps has blown?

Thank you again for your help.

Chris

Hi Chris,

Sounds like the internal PSU is shot, you will have to send it in for service. Sorry.

Thanks, Jeff.

I've called Synthax and left a message, but no return yet. Can you help me with getting an RA #? Or other process?

Re: Fireface 800 Completely Dead

I think i have the exact same problem. What process do I take to get my unit serviced?

Re: Fireface 800 Completely Dead

Where are you located and where was the unit purchased?

Re: Fireface 800 Completely Dead

I'm located in Chicago, Illinois (USA). I'm not exactly sure where it was purchased since it was a gift. The unit has been going strong for about 3 years and never have had any problems with it. Thanks again for the help!

P.s.

It looks like I reported your reply on accident sorry about that...
