Topic: USB/Firewire to PCMCIA/PCI adapter adventurers

Hey there,

just a quick question:
I have an old Multiface I, which, due to the lack of an ExpressCard slot on my Macbook Pro or iMac is used only to transmit a stereo signal via the optical in/outs, and never to be switched off since it is running in disconnect mode.
I was wondering whether somebody tried to connect their pcmcia or ExpressCard to a USB/Firewire to pcmcia or ExpressCard adapter, and got it working?
Of course I'd like to hear about experience, connecting the PCI (e) card to a USB/Firewire to PCI (e) adapter as well.

Doesn't matter whether you're on Mac or Windows. I just like to know, if it is possible at all, before I buy an adapter and fiddle myself to death. wink
I'd love to put the Multiface to a better use (and be able to use its MIDI I/O as well) than just using 2 Channels via the optical I/Os. Apparently the 21" iMac only supports 2 channel optical out, but if someone knows a workaround, I'll gladly hear it. wink

Thanks for your experiences and ideas,
dualmono

There is no such adapter available. Has been discussed here before.
