Topic: Can Multiface II be used without the PCI(e) card?

I bought a new rayDat card and would like to bring the MF's output to the raydat via adat, and then use the output from the rayday to return to the MF for D/A and out.

I would power the MF via an external adapter similar to Cardbus operation. So....

TRS input -> Multiface -> ADAT output -> RAYDAT -> Host
Host output via Raydat -> Multiface ADAT input -> D/A conversion -> monitors via MF's AN1&2

Appreciate any thoughts.

Shaun

PS> The Install and configure of the RayDat was simple and easy! Well done.

Bump.

Re: Can Multiface II be used without the PCI(e) card?

You'll need to use the Multiface's "Disconnect mode".  It involves connecting the Multiface to an HDSP card so it can load it's FPGA Firmware.  And you'll also need to configure Totalmix to send the Analog ins to ADAT Outs and vice-versa.

If you want to un-hook the Multiface from the HDSP card - then you'll need to provide CONSTANT POWER to the Multiface.  If the Multiface looses power - you'll have to re-connect it to the HDSP card to re-load the Firmware and re-configure Totalmix - and KEEP IT POWERED UP!

Search for "Disconnect mode" for more details...

Thank you! I'll give it a whirl this weekend.
