ovice : Workflow & Routing. Daisy chain FF800/mackie 1620 F/W

Looking for some guidance, advice and pints of view for setting up a sequenced live mix down and work flow on please.

Ultimately whay I want to be able to do is once I have all my takes in Cubase or Reaper, I want to have 8-16 (usually 8-16 mono/stereo combination) of tracks playing back and be able to capture all channels in return with any mix adjustments from the Mackie's mutes/fader actions (live mixing).

Another option maybe using maschine to trigger mutes/fader settings and bypass the mackie.  But this would not include the external synths and effects routing that is coming into the other Mackie inputs (maybe these should be somehow routed directly back as seperate outs into seperate FF800 inputs?!

Using a Fireface 800 and Mackie Onyx 1620 with Firewire (or similar) expansion and PC i7/Win7x64Ult with Cubase5/Reaper3.74.

Is it possible to Daisy chain a firewire FF800 to other ASIO supported devices (i.e. Mackie1620 with F/W card?

The idea is to route as following with 8 mono outputs or a combination or mono and stereo using all of the FF800's outputs:

DAW   - Output from 8 Mono/Stereo 1/4'' in Cubase/Reaper using audio/vst/group channels/strips => Outputs into FF800=>
FF800 - Input   => 8 Mono/Stereo 1/4'' => Mackie 1620  then preferrably 8 mono/stereo outputs.
The using the mackie live bounce down to 8/16 Mono/Stereo channels via Mackie Firewire back into PC or
just take 2 x 1/4'' jacks straight back into the FF800.

The intention if this works is to add another further 2 outputs via spdif TC Fireworx and an ADAT TC Triple C into 1/4'' Mackie inputs) as either return effects or straight back into Cubase/Reaper.

Ideally I want to be able to have the DAW playing back into the Mackie mixer and mix/mutes/fades recorded back into Cubase/Reaper as 8+ individual channels with individual parts.

The ASIO firewire will do that with just the Mackie ASIO driver going but disengages the FF800 ASIO driver.  Should another route to explorer Totalmixes routing and configuration and when switching over to the mackie ASIO over, does the FF800 still carry the audio signals and routing in it's physical memory.

Hope that explains what i am trying to achieve.  What I do appreciate is my thinking may be taking the wrong approach and could be a better or alternative route/option.

Many thanks

Thanks for reading as you can see my mind is a whirl and struggling to settle down on a route so in short I thinka shorter post could be :

1) Is it possible to aggregate/daisy chain 2 different Firewire devices in one Daw (Cubase or Reaper)

2) For 8 ouputs from Fireface800 what is the best way to return the seperate signals into the Mackie and back into the DAW as 8 individual tracks.

3) Can not seem to get Maschine working nice in Cubase as the templates and Cubase 5 seem to have a mind of there own! grrr...

Thanks
