Topic: Fireface 802 - ARC - Totalmix FX

This should be an easy one to answer...

I'm looking at purchasing a Fireface 802 with the advanced remote control.

Am I right in saying that within TotalMix I can group together the master fader and any number of the other hardware outputs (like 4 analogue outs and 4 ADAT outs) so that I can control the output level of the whole group via the encoder on the ARC?

I have read that I must have the master fader in the group otherwise I cannot set the encoder to control a fader group, is that true or is that just for the basic remote control?

(Situation: I have 12 active monitors connected via analogue outs and ADAT DAC converter and would like to control the whole volume with a single control)

Wonderful news!

So just to confirm, I can make a fader group WITHOUT the master fader and control it with the ARC encoder? (If I make a button on the ARC a "Fader Group" selector?)

No, that doesn't work. You need to select either Phones or Main volume for the wheel, or it won't control anything.
