The link you provided is for an expresscard adapter while the thread seems to be about cardbus (PCi).

I just installed such a pci express adapter (€10 on ebay) and it seems to work fine so far : I dared to update the firmware through it: they say it's kind of foolproof and I couldn't wait to check it out .
An expresscard to PCiE adapter seems to be perfectly "transparent" to the OS (W10/64), as opposed to the PCMCIA to PCi adapter I used for the cardbus, one of those with a Ricoh chip: it needed its own driver and appeared as a PCMCIA device in Computer management in both XP, W7, W8 and W10.

This particular adapter I got for cheap on  on Ebay seems to be well made; it  had my preference because it will accept only 34mm cards and is less likely to cause trouble than the 34/54mm ones.. I also found front panel  adapters, which might sometimes be more suitable (as in rack-mounted PC's) and are only marginally more expensive.

On a side note, I never heard about a cardbus to PCiE adapter that I would trust, although I found a couple that seemed to be able to handle low tech but certainly not a Digiface with 52 I/O ! As far as Multiface/Digiface go, cardbus goes to PCI, expresscard to PCiE.
