Topic: Thunderbolt2 PCIe chassis with HDSPe AIO - PC Laptop under Windows 7/8
Hi guys,
i'm planning to build a new setup for live sound application (running zero latency VST plugins such as FX/COMP/MULTIBANDCOMP/etc..).
i already build a few years ago a 3U low-depth rackmounted PC (micro atx/i7 Quadcore/SSD drive/HDSPe AIO/Windows XP Pro) witch is very powerfull and helped me to do a lot of gigs.
BUT it is to heavy to carry when you live at the 3rd floor and no elevator in the building...
So i want the setup to be more "mobile" cause i'll need to travel with it and i don't want to buy another sound card as the RME HDSPe AIO got the best low latencies ans works perfectly.
I looked online for pci-e expansion chassis and i choose to take advantage of the Thunderbolt2 ones.
So i need to buy a Portable PC with Thunderbolt port equiped...
- This is the one i choosed : http://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00177245.html
- This is the Thunderbolt2 chassis i found : http://www.magma.com/expressbox-1t
Does anyone ever experienced with this kind of setup under WINDOWS 7 or 8 ?
Does it works fine, does it requires boring drivers/bridges/apps to run properly on a windows pc ?
What do you guys think about the 2 products i choosed ?
Thanks a lot !
cheers
