Topic: Extra remote for totalmixfx

Hello
I am using a ucx on a mac in a 5.1 studio. I already use the advanced remote as a monitoring controller. However in a 5.1 environment I miss some extra buttons (mainly I would like to have a button to mute each speaker separately). I searched around and did not find any device (small midi controller for ex. which would give me theses extra buttons. I would be great if we could add a second advanced remote. However i don't think it is possible.
Anybody has an idea on such device ?
Thank you.
Simon

The best actually would be that you release a advanced advanced remote with twice more buttons. I would buy it for more than twice the price of the advanced remote. I think it is a market when you think of the price of a surround monitor controller (nothing serious less than 1000 euros at least). Any plan on this ? Come on it is the new year!

Could you be more specific? Muting can be done with every simple Midi-Controller.

Re: Extra remote for totalmixfx

Thxs. Could you recommend one (as small as possible)?

Re: Extra remote for totalmixfx

Every Midi/Mackie-Controller with switches should do the muting. If not directly supported, you can use a Midi-Converter-App (e.g. MidiPipe, Bome's Midi Translator Pro) to assign your personal defaults.

I don't work in 5.1 systems. So you first have to specify, what you want to do with an additional Controller. Only muting single Out-Channels of TM FX? This could be done with a simple Pad-Controller as a Hardware or iPhone/iPad solution (http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/irigpads/ or http://midipads.com)

Thank you. Actually, ideally i would need 6 buttons (mute each speaker separately: l c r ls rs lfe) and only this. I also need to identity if the button is active or not : that means button with with light (when mute is active or inversely). The form factor is quiet important: i cannot use big controller. The size of the rme remote would be perfect. So far, i have not been able to find anything. The pads are not a bad idea but they are quite big.

What about iPod Touch + TouchOSC App? You can create your own interface with TouchOSC Editor (OSC or MIDI commands). Wireless or wired connections are possible.
