Topic: HDSP 9632 Problem

Hello,

Perhaps you have got the correct answer to my problem.

I am using a HDSP 9632 soundcard in a Dell T3400 .

Everytime I turn off my computer there is a loud bang through my speakers , it already blew up one woofer and most recently my power amp.
What can it be ?

I hope you can help me.

Thanks,

Best regards,

Re: HDSP 9632 Problem

Basically have 2 Choices:

1) Turn off the amp before you turn off the PC ('amps on last', and 'amps off first' is a "best practice" in most environments)
2) Use an analog volume control or Monitor Controller between the RME's analog outs and your Power Amp, and turn down the volume before powering off your PC.

And 3) Use a Standalone ADAT or SPDIF DAC (fed from the RME) and use that to feed your Power Amp - and leave it on all the time.

4) Connect the speakers to the headphone out (which has pop-prevention).
