Topic: HDSPe AIO crackles when starting/stopping playback in a DAW

Hello,

today, I replaced my old HDSP-9632 with a HDSPe AIO. All went fine so far, I also installed the latest drivers. However, when starting/stopping playback in a DAW (i.e. Sequoia) on Windows 7 x64, I get some crackling noises.

How can I fix this?

Best regards,
Patrick

Hello Patrick! Try to increase a buffer size: small size of a buffer may cause a CPU overload and the crackles appears.

Actually, I have a large buffer size of 2048 already, since I don't record with the HDSPe. I also updated the firmware, but it did not solve it so far.

A buffer size of 4096 does not help either.

How to track this down?

At least in the task manager of Windows, no CPU spikes are noticeable.

Try a different PCIe slot. Check your system with DPC Latency Checker.
