Topic: Speakers popping when turning on amp for the first time in a day

Hi guys, I have an HDSP 9632 in my desktop PC. It's been running fine for a few years but now I am experiencing some problems, just after moving house and everything being in storage for a little while.

I was previously having a problem with my speakers popping when shutting down my computer but have resolved that now. I asked the question about popping on shutdown in another thread and have resolved that by using the RME 9632 headphone socket to my amp instead of the RCAs. You don't need to read it but the thread is here: http://www.rme-audio.de/forum/viewtopic.php?id=21545

It seems I've got another problem though...

When I turn my amp on for the first time in the day, my speakers will pop, enough to make the mid driver move. But then if I turn the amp off and on again, it doesn't happen!

I'm really worried that it could damage them, has anyone got any ideas of what could be causing this?

Thanks in advance,

Jeremy

Re: Speakers popping when turning on amp for the first time in a day

I think I've narrowed it down to my amp.

I've tried:

-disconnecting the audi input
-changing power cable
-changing power socket

I guess I should contact the amp manufacturer for a repair sad
