Topic: fader jump to zero is shitty and dangerous.. bad idea

This leads easily to mean level jumps in studio and live situations..  where it could be damaging your studio monitors or the ears of a musican you just add something to the head phone mix..

while a jump to unity/zero is practical it shouldnt be executed in such a unthoughtfull way that leads to unwanted level jumps so easily.. from own accidental double cllicking on a closed fader to faulty mouse or trackpad switches to little glitches in wireless remote scenarios .. i often get this leveljumps since i updated to total mix fx..

sorry to say..but this is an unprofessional implementation..  why you dont make this jump to zero when clicking on the zero? What would express the user wish to go to unity better than clicking on the zero point?

Preferences - Disable double click fader actions.

Indeed it is a 'bad idea' to use sophisticated tools without reading the manual and exploring all their capabilities first.
