Topic: Multiface 2 ADAT outputs not working? (Inputs works fine)

Hello guys,

I am trying to link my Multiface 2 to a Apogee Symphony 8x8 using Optical Cables with ADAT.

After connecting cables, I was able to test the ADAT IN of the Multiface with sucess. (played some notes to the audio in of the Apogee and it was routed with success to the ADAT IN of the Multiface 2, and the level changed on the HDSP Mixer.)

But unfortunatly I can't make the ADAT OUT work. I am playing a track on the computer and routing it (using Cubase) to ADAT OUT 1/2 of the Multiface. I can see the level changing on the HDSP Mixer, but nothing is arriving at the Apogee.

On the HAMMERFALL DSP SETTINGS, the SynchCheck says that ADAT IN is "Sync" but ADAT Sync is "No Lock" (probably because I am using Word Clock).

Is there anything else I am missing?

Check your SPDIF Output settings for the RME, and make sure you aren't forcing the ADAT Output to operate as SPDIF.

ADAT Sync is not used on the MF-II (was physically omitted IIRC), and is only used with physical ADAT machines on the older Multiface (again IIRC).  Safe to ignore that smile

Hey, thanks for the answer Randyman. I managed to make it work not because of your actual answer, but because of your S/MUX Specialist title. LOL!
After reading it I remembered that the Apogee had SMUX ports also, so first thing I did was to change it to them and it worked!! smile
Why I don't know, I really don't know anything about SMUX until now. Will research it.
