Topic: ADI-8 DS question

Hi All.
Is it possible to set the ADI-8 DS so that an input to channels 1&2 analogue in are mirrored to the analogue outputs 1&2?
It seems that it should be but the manual is not clear on this & I am reluctant to fiddle with a working setup in ignorance.
(Currently, I seem to need to bounce the signal through the DAW)

Re: ADI-8 DS question

If it is connected to a hdsp card or ufx etc (or any other brand too probably) you can use the mixer app for that instead of your daw. I use it for complex setups with life mics and effects from 3 adat sources and destinations on my HDSP9652.
I have the ADI8AE which I think is identical to the DS and there is no way to do this internally. Except with an adat loopback, but that is not very useful!

Re: ADI-8 DS question

Damn.
An ADAT loopback is not possible - both ports are used for 96kHz operation.
I am amazed this is not possible to do really. It would seem to be such a basic thing yet no go it appears.
The Combine function does it for digital - so why no analogue switch?

FWIW, I cannot find any way to do this in Totalmix either - nothing seemed to work when I tried this yesterday.
Maybe it is time to get new converters

Re: ADI-8 DS question

This functionality has been added in the ADI-8 DS MK III, but only for all 8 channels at the same time.

But I don't see where the problem is doing this with TotalMix. Send ADAT input signal to the correct ADAT output...

Re: ADI-8 DS question

Yes I do this all the time, so keep trying! It is as easy as sending you daws output to any analogue output and same principle! And it is much more flexible then a switch on the converter!
