Topic: Bad noise switching from ASIO driver to windows sounds

Hi there,
Since I updated everything (drivers, totalmix...) a few weeks ago I have a very loud noise coming out when I switch from an ASIO application (Cubase here) to windows (opening firefox or winamp).
Any idea where that could come from ?

Sometimes I have my monitoring level pretty loud and it makes me jump from my chair.

Change in sample rate?

I've experienced the same. I have a hdsp 9632.
When going from daw monitoring to lets say listening to an audio file I get a quick burst of white-noise or similariy sounding.
I'm on windows 8.1.

Same thing as Rootberg describes, no change in sample rate involved though.
Any more idea ?

Is the option to optimize multi-client active in the driver's Settings dialog?

No it's not checked.
I just tried and it didn't do any noise this time going from cubase to youtube... I'll report if it fixed it after checking a bit more.
