Topic: Successor for my old 9632 card...

Hello, (not sure what forum to post in...)

I plan to build a new high performance Audio PC later this year (when Intel has released it's new processor generation and prices for current models fall)..

Right now I have an Asus P8 board with one PCI slot which holds my (recently bought) Hammerfall 9632 card. As new Mainboards with LGA1150 or 2011-V3 boards only have PCIe slots, I will - as far as I understand - have to replace my perfectly working 9632 card.

I looked at RMEs current portfolio, unfortunately I don't understand much about those models: It seems that the MADI cards are for PCIe slot, but do they act as simple audio interfaces with optical out? I currently only need optical out because I am working exclusively "inbox" and send the SPDIF signal to my external DAC.

So if anybody could tell me the simpliest solution for my needs, I'd be thankful.

Bernie

I'm in kinda the same position. Looking forward to some replies :-)
