Topic: Fireface 802 Midi IN not working on Firewire, only USB

Hi there,

I am having an issue with the MIDI IN port of my new Fireface 802. The MIDI signal sent from a controller never gets to my computer… The MIDI IN led flashes on the Fireface quite normally, but no MIDI messages seem to be sent to my mac. I tried just about everything, downloading latest drivers and firmwares, repairing permissions, reinitializing MIDI on Audio/Midi utility, change cables, reboot devices, nothing works.

Sending MIDI messages OUT from the computer to the controller works, and I noticed this problem doesn't happen over USB. I need to use the sound card over Firewire though.

I work on Mac OS X 10.10.3

Has anyone experienced the same?

Ok, I found a workaround in this thread by taking out the hard drive from the firewire chain. Not optimal but works for me: https://www.forum.rme-audio.de/viewtopi … 03#p106903

I'm experiencing the same issue here.
I've just updated firewire and USB drivers
then updated 802 firmware via usb.
I've disconnected all other firewire devices.

Midi seems to work fine over USB but not over firewire.
In the past midi has worked intermittantly over firewire but now it doesn't seem to work at all.

any direction would be appreciated please.
