Topic: Madiface FX disconnect behaviour

Dear all, I use multiple hdspe madi cards but am looking to buy a madiface fx. With the objective to use it as a live mixer.

So what i would like to know is how it behaves when disconnected from a pc and reconnected to another or when the pc re-starts.

Will it pass audio at any time?
And does it have the same mix and routing from when i unplugged it.

Thanks in advance

Cheers

You mean the MADIface XT?

When disconnected it will keep the current state. When reconnected you wil get a dialog asking you to keep the current mixer state or use the one from the new computer.

Excuse me, yes i mean the xt.

And it will never cause a dropout of the audio when i reconnects? edit:  when you keep the same settings of course.

Should not. The only way for this to happen would be a change in sample rate.

Re: Madiface FX disconnect behaviour

That's very nice. That would mean i could make a redundancy recorder without running an extra optical line. That said, is it possible to split madi using ordanairy network gear?

http://www.acefiber.com/1x2-sc-to-sc-sp … 83167.html Like this? I use only 100m of fibre.

I never tried a passive optical splitter, so really don't know.
