Topic: Mac OS X 10.10.5 driver incompatibility
Our current drivers for PCIe, USB and FireWire are fully compatible to Mac OS X 10.10.5. Unfortunately the installer of the drivers is not. It detects an older OS version and consequently installs the driver file into a directory that was valid for older OS X versions, but is not for the newer ones.
The fix is quite easy, an updated driver package has been released today for USB (same driver files as before, just updated installer).
Unfortunately we are in the middle of the summer holidays and therefore can not release updates for FireWire and HDSPe before Tuesday next week, 08/25/2015.
There are workarounds, though, because the installer does not fail with 10.10.4 or any other OS before 10.10.5. If you install the latest driver BEFORE UPDATING TO 10.10.5, it will stay in the correct folder and continue to work.
If you already installed the driver under 10.10.5, you could use your Time machine backup to go back to 10.10.4, install the driver, then update to 10.10.5 again.
There is another workaround explained in our forum that we do not recommend (although it works). Please be patient until Tuesday in case the above explanations do not help in your situation.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but this was really unexpected and did not show up in previous tests.
