Topic: Fireface USB settings - Undocumented feature

Good morning RME

By accident i stumbled over a new setting inside the Fireface USB settings control panel on the Mac

IGNORE SERIAL NUMBERS

I can´t find any documentation for this is the recent manuals

What does it do, exactly ?

(my hopes are now up high with regards to the ability to load setup files made by other users)

Re: Fireface USB settings - Undocumented feature

It will keep the current settings of the Settings dialog if using multiple but identical RME devices, and not using them simultaneoulsy. In some cases people attach a Babyface, then later a different Babyface etc. This keeps the Settings identical. It had been added for an industrial customer who uses (many) MADIface USB with TotaMix FX disabled.

And that's the point: Note that TotalMix FX will still treat them as different units. So the mixer settings might change.

(Can you elaborate on what exactly you mean with loading setup files from different users?)
