Oh dear, this leave me helpless...
I do already own an FireFace UFX which I love (including the ARC) and a FireFace 400. Now I ask myself: What should I do?
Apart from that luxury problem: Great job RME, again a killer product! Kudos to MC and his staff
Looking sexy...
Just wondering if the new ARC will work with the old UFX, given that it seems to connect to the computer to control Totalmix??

Sorry, no.

Haha, no problem and thank you!... Just needed an excuse to get the whole combo. ;-)
Ha! UFX+
I was peaking to the UFX since months, comparing audio interfaces and always came back to the ufx - but I was saving up my money and wating for the Musikmesse because maybe... hopefully... and YES!
Great! Hope it's not so much more expensive than the "old" UFX and it got the same great preamps.
I'm in, thank your for that RME!
greetings from Berlin
€2699 has been mentioned incl tax, but "street price" is expected to become little lower. It will NOT replace the UFX, so this is an UFX with something "on top". In the two Videos from Musikmesse Frankfurt you can easily get information about new features. Simply google for "UFX+".
I put together some information here:
http://www.tonstudio-forum.de/index.php … e-UFX-und/
You get something which is advanced so this will definitively cost more. If you look alone at the increased number of input an output channels. Plus 128 channels more alone by MADI !
The preamps have also been modified, gain is now 75dB, not sure how this compares to +65dB Gain ("Regelbereich") for the UFX...
If you expect to get UFX+ for the same price as UFX, then this would of course be nice, but this isn't realistic
And I expect the new ARC USB also to become more expensive.
I assume that UFX+ and ARC USB together will cost around €2800.
From technical point of view how did RME implemented the TB connection, via FPGA or off-the-shelf Intel component?
You can not implement TB without specific Intel components. But the control is completely in our FPGA.
Matthias,
Is it possible to assign UFX+ together with ARC to:
- mute L / R channels individually
- listen to only S (Side) or M (Mid) channel?
Thanks,

Wow, this situation seems to have changed!! Awesome!!
"Equally notable, the ARC USB works with any RME audio interface that is currently compatible to the latest drivers supporting TotalMix FX, and this includes interfaces that were released as far back as 2001."
Indeed

(sorry DE only at the moment, but the list I think speaks for itself)
and enables to do this, what is very interesting to enable to have the ADI-2 Pro as the main D/A section of your RME recording solution:
